So, does IPL hair removal really work?

The answer is yes - absolutely!

When IPL light is absorbed by the melanin in brown or black hair, the light energy is converted into heat, which damages the hair follicle. During the active growth phase, the hair is attached to the base of the follicle and receives a blood supply.

Treating the hair during this phase can damage the follicle and reduce its ability to produce new hair.

During later growth phases, however, the hair is no longer firmly attached to the follicle, so treatment may be less effective. New hair may therefore appear several weeks later. This is why IPL hair-removal treatments must be repeated at specific intervals—to target as many follicles as possible during their active growth phase and achieve the greatest level of long-term hair reduction.
