How to Use an IPL Device
Device is so easy, you'll wonder how you ever lived without it...
Learn how to use an IPL device safely and effectively at home with FAUSTINA. This guide covers skin preparation, shaving, energy settings, treatment passes, gliding and stamping modes, treatment frequency and essential aftercare for better results.
- Before starting any IPL treatment, it is essential to ensure that your skin is clean and dry. Remove any makeup, lotions, or creams from the area you wish to treat.
- Shave your body before the treatments to avoid hindering the IPL process.
- If you have recently tanned your skin, we recommend waiting at least two weeks before starting IPL treatments. Tanned skin can absorb more light, which can cause skin damage or blistering.
- Avoid using any products that contain multivitamins, Vitamin B, or AHA ingredients for at least 5-7 days before treatment. This will help prevent skin irritation and sensitivity to IPL flashes during treatment.
- There are 5 different energy levels to adapt to your skin's sensitivity. Start with the lowest energy level and gradually increase to the highest if there is no discomfort.
- If there isn't any pain or discomfort, use the device in the highest energy setting and go over the same area 2 to 3 times, but avoid flashing the exact same spot repeatedly.
- To start flashing, firmly press the device's window against your skin. For automatic mode, hold the shooting button and glide it on your skin; the icon on the LCD screen will flash.
- Depending on the skin type, severity of hyperpigmentation, and FACIAL broken capillaries, you can proceed with more sessions without needing to wait more time between the cycles.
- Do not use your IPL treatment on tattoos, moles, or birthmarks, as this can cause skin damage or scarring.
- After treatment, avoid exposure to direct sunlight for at least 48 hours. Use sunscreen with a high SPF to protect your skin from UV rays.
The Effective and Safe IPL Hair Removal
A Step-by-Step Guide.
Simply check out our handy guide below, and you’ll be an expert in no time – and free from hair! Of course, before initiating any kind of treatment, you must find out beforehand if you’re eligible for FAUSTINA 3IN1 IPL, as unfortunately, IPL does not work for all hair colours and skin types. Find out below using our complexion guide if you’re unsure.
Now that you're all caught up with the basic requirements, it's time to start using FAUSTINA 3-in-1 IPL!
Step 1
Remove all hair on the surface of your skin before using FAUSTINA 3IN1 IPL. The best method to use for this purpose is shaving — the light from your device will be able to target the melanin in your hair much more easily this way, as it acts similarly to a conductor. Shaving beforehand will prevent your skin from getting burned or irritated in the process.
Step 2
Make sure your skin is completely dry. Make sure the hair removal lamp is installed correctly before turning it on. Place the head of the device (the lamp) firmly against the surface of your skin. The device will not function if it is not in full contact with your skin.
Step 3
There are 5 energy levels to adapt to a wide range of different skin types. FAUSTINA 3-in-1 has gliding and stamping modes, meaning you can quickly treat large areas on your body with ease while also maintaining precision and accuracy in tighter areas. If you intend to treat a large area, such as the thighs or legs, the gliding mode comes in very handy: Just press the flash button once and glide the device along the area you wish to treat, and it will flash automatically as it goes along.
If you intend to treat a smaller area, such as the face, stamp mode is the normal go-to method for this purpose. Just press the device against your skin, press the flash button, release and repeat.
Note: For facial treatment, you will need to make sure your face is clean and free from any water, creams and oils prior to using IPL.
Step 4
Once you are done with your treatment, you must clean the nozzle thoroughly with a dry or damp cloth to remove any excess dust or small hairs that may have burned against the surface of the lamp or nozzle. This will prevent build-up and will keep your device clean and fully operational.
Step 5
We recommend continuing this treatment once a week for 4 to 12 weeks. Simply adjust according to your needs and what’s best for you.
Note: We do not recommend doing this treatment more than once or twice a week. Doing this will not speed up the process of achieving permanent hair removal – it’s a gradual process. Patience is key!
