How to Use FAUSTINA Pro IPL for Effective and Safe Hair Removal: A Step-by-Step Guide.
IPL hair removal is suitable for compatible combinations of skin tone and naturally darker hair; very light blonde, red, grey and white hair may not respond effectively to IPL.
Skin Tone Compatibility
Not all skin tones interact with IPL technology the same way. Faustina IPL is engineered to safely treat Skin Types I through V (Very Fair to Brown skin). However, it is not suitable for Skin Type VI (Very Dark skin).
Hair Color Compatibility
For safety and maximum efficacy, Faustina IPL is designed for darker hair shades—ranging from black to light brown—where the light energy can easily target the hair root. It is not suitable for red, auburn, grey, or white hair.

Step 1
Remove all hair on the surface of your skin before using FAUSTINA 3IN1 IPL. The best method to use for this purpose is shaving — the light from your device will be able to target the melanin in your hair much more easily this way, as it acts similarly to a conductor. Shaving beforehand will prevent your skin from getting burned or irritated in the process.
Step 2
Make sure your skin is completely dry. Make sure the hair removal lamp is installed correctly before turning on. Place the head of the device (the lamp) firmly against the surface of your skin. The device will not function if it is not in full contact with your skin.
Step 3
There are 5 energy levels to adapt to a wide range of different skin types. FAUSTINA 3-in-1 has working gliding and stamping modes, meaning you can quickly treat large areas on your body with ease, while also maintaining precision and accuracy in tighter areas. If you intend to treat a large area, such as thighs or legs, the gliding mode comes in very hand: Just press the flash button once and glide the device along the area you wish to treat, and it will flash automatically as it goes along.
If you intend on treating a smaller area, such as the face, stamp mode is the normal go-to method for this purpose. Just press the device against your skin, press the flash button, release and repeat.
Note: For facial treatment, you will need to make sure your face is clean and free from any water, creams and oils prior to using IPL.
Step 4
Once you are done with your treatment, you must clean the nozzle thoroughly with a dry or damp cloth to remove any excess dust or small hairs that may have burned against the surface of the lamp or nozzle. This will prevent build-up and will keep your device clean and fully operational.
Step 5
We recommend continuing this treatment once a week for 4 to 12 weeks. Simply adjust according to your needs and what’s best for you.
Note: We do not recommend doing this treatment more than once or twice a week. Doing this will not speed up the process of achieving permanent hair removal – it’s a gradual process. Patience is key!

If you have diabetes – People with diabetes should understand that their condition compromises their immune system. Therefore, the healing process of possible adverse effects will take longer than usual. Risks of infection are also of utmost concern.
If you’re undergoing chemotherapy – Patients who are currently undergoing chemotherapy also possess a compromised immune system which makes them not ideal for IPL treatments.
If you’ve consumed Photo-Sensitive Drugs – There are a handful of photo-sensitive drugs that may potentially intensify one’s sensitivity or response to IPL treatments.

Before using your FAUSTINA IPL device for skin rejuvenation, it is generally advisable to stop using topical skin treatments, such as Retin A, Vitamin B, or AHA (Alpha Hydroxy Acid), for a certain period. The specific timeframe can vary depending on the sensitivity of your skin. However, we recommend discontinuing the use of these treatments for approximately one to two weeks before starting IPL sessions.
1. Retin A (Retinoids): Discontinue use for about one to two weeks before treatment.
2. Vitamin B (e.g., Vitamin B3/Niacinamide): Pause usage for approximately one to two weeks before IPL sessions.
3. AHA (Alpha Hydroxy Acid): Stop using AHA-containing products for about one to two weeks before IPL treatment.
Stopping the use of these products before IPL helps reduce the risk of skin irritation or sensitivity during the treatment. FAUSTINA IPL works by targeting melanin and haemoglobin in the skin, and the presence of certain active ingredients in skincare products can make the skin more sensitive to light.
Your skin may be slightly pink or red right after your treatment, and you may experience mild swelling that should subside in a few days.
For the next 24 hours, we advise:
– No hot baths
– No swimming or sunbathing
– No tight clothing
– No application of perfumed products including deodorant, antiperspirant, self-tanner or makeup on the treated area
–No scrubbing or rubbing of the treated area (this can cause a bacterial infection)
Avoid rough sports for 24-48 hours. Hydrate your body by drinking plenty of water.
